What Bargello will do
A short film, an illustration of what Bargello will do. Bargello is still being built.
- Someone tells Bargello the business they want: vintage film cameras by post, developing included.
- Research: Bargello reads prices, reviews and forums. People want to try film before buying a £300 camera, rentals exist but none include developing, and weekends away and weddings are the busy times.
- Strategy: Bargello and the owner discuss the plan. The owner replies "Make it £35, not £40", and the price changes.
- Build: Bargello builds the shop (website, bookings, payments). The owner labels the cameras and packs the kits.
- Launch: it asks before spending money. "Spend £60 on ads this weekend?" The owner approves.
- Run: Maya made a booking. Bargello takes the payment. The developed photos go back to Maya.

Where the name comes from
Bargello is a needlework type originating from Florence, also called flame stitch or Florentine work. The name 'Bargello' comes from the Bargello palace, which has 17th-century chairs covered in these patterns. You'll find many Bargello stitches decorating this site.
Each stitch is one straight, upright thread, worked row after row in graded colours, adding up to one bold pattern.

Why we chose it
That's how Bargello works. A good business is built from many consistent, small, well-designed steps. Over time a pattern emerges, forming something that lasts.
